Fireproof silicone material
- Fire-resistant silicone sheets, also known as flame-retardant silicone sheets and UL-94V0 grade silicone sheets.
- The fire resisting function of fireproof sheets:The sheets have good flame retardance and self-extinguishing property. The flame retardancy of the fire-resistant silicone sheets can reach the level of FV-0/UL-94V0. The colors of the sheets are usually black, white, gray, and so on.
- The parameters of fireproof silicon sheets:The shore scleroscope hardness of the fire-resistant silicone sheets is generally between 25 to 70 with the thickness between 0.1 to 3.0 mm, and the width between 600 mm.
UL flammability classification and testing standards in the United States:
- HB: slow burning on a horizontal specimen, which is the lowest (least flame retardant) UL94 rating. It is required that the burning rate of samples with a thickness between 3 to 13 mm less than 40 mm/min; burning rate less than 70 mm/min for samples with a thickness less than 3 mm; or burning stops before 100 mm.
- V-2: after subjecting to 10-second combustion test twice, the burning stops within 60 seconds; drops of flaming particles are allowed.
- V-1: after subjecting to 10-second combustion test twice, the burning stops within 60 seconds; drops of flaming particles are not allowed.
- V-0: after subjecting to 10-second combustion test twice, the burning stops within 30 seconds; drops of flaming particles are not allowed.
UL flammability classification:

UL 94-V0 burning stops right after the fire leaves without spontaneous combustion
UL 94-V1 burning stops within 1 sec after the fire leaves without spontaneous combustion
UL 94-V2 burning stops within 2 sec after the fire leaves without spontaneous combustion
UL 94-V5 burning stops within 5 sec after the fire leaves without spontaneous combustion
UL 94-HB burning continues until only the carbon left after the fire leaves

Types of rating covered in the UL 94 include: HB, V-0, V-1, V-2, 5VA, 5VB, VTM-0, VTM-1, VTM-2, HBF, HF-1, HF-2.
The flammability rating of UL94 is the most widely used standard for the flammability performance of plastic materials. It is used to evaluate the ability of the material to extinguish after being ignited. Depending on the burning speed, burning time, anti-drip ability, and whether the drips burn, there are multiple ways to assess. According to the color or the thickness of each tested material, numerous values should be considered. After selected the material of a specific product, the UL rating should meet the thickness requirements of the plastic components. The UL rating must be reported along with the thickness value. It is not sufficient with only the UL rating without the thickness value.
The flame retardant grades of plastic materials from the lowest to the highest are HB, V-2, V-1, V-0, 5VB and 5VA.
HB: the lowest flame retardant grade in the UL 94 standard. It is required that the burning rate of samples with a thickness between 3 to 13 mm less than 40 mm/min; burning rate less than 70 mm/min for samples with a thickness less than 3 mm; or burning stops before 100 mm.

5VB: after subjecting to 5-second combustion test for five times, the flaming and burning should extinguish with in 60 sec. Drips of flaming particles may not ignite the cotton. The plaque specimens may develop a hole.
5VA: after subjecting to 5-second combustion test for five times, the flaming and burning should extinguish with in 30 sec. Drips of flaming particles may not ignite the cotton. The plaque specimens may not develop a hole.
